(Connecticut Post - Bridgeport, CT) August 25, 2006 -- Robert Glaser of Westport has been a part of a quiet boom in real estate since 2003, amassing more than 200 properties since he founded his company Hot Web Holdings Ltd. But you can't drive to Glaser's properties; they're all on the Internet. He used to own a retail store; he didn't say what it was, but he sold that several years ago and now he runs his company from home. Glaser is an online real estate speculator and developer. He searches for and registers, or buys, domain names of Web sites he thinks are valuable or will become valuable. [more](PRWEB) August 23, 2006 -- Hot Web Holdings Ltd owned by internet entrepreneur Robert Glaser has purchased yet another piece of prime online real estate, Exit18.com. The sale price was not disclosed. Glaser would only reveal that when the domain was offered he instantly saw the potential for what he called “another under utilized” domain name. The venerable location, exit 18 on I-95 in Connecticut, is the home to the Town of Westport, an affluent suburb of New York. Mr. Glaser has been quietly buying prime domain names over the past year for development under the “HOT” brand name and for investment. [more]
(Fairfield County Business Journal) December 05, 2005 -- The heat is on: Shoppers warm up to online store site. -- This business, however, fits into a computer in Glasers' home office. It's called The Hot Mall, an Internet-based business (www.TheHotMall.com) that links to more than 800 retailers--more than competitor Shopping.com's 600 retailers, which eBay recently purchased for $780 million. "It just blew me away," Glaser said of that purchase price. Those 800 retailers aren't mom-and-pops in Sheboygan. They include such retailing giants as Macy's, The Home Depot and Old Navy. "We just added Radio Shack and Legal Seafood of Boston this week and hope to add Nordstrom's soon," he said. [more]
